Una Healy has been left heartbroken after the death of her beloved dog Bono.

The singer and former member of The Saturdays adopted two pooches, Jackson and Bono, back in 2010 with her ex-husband Ben Foden.

Jackson sadly passed away two years ago and now Bono has joined him in “doggy heaven”, Una announced on social media on Monday.

The Tipperary native shared a photo of her two furry friends side by side in their bed and wrote: “Bono joined his brother Jackson in doggy heaven today. I will never forget you both. All the joy and happiness you both brought to the 3 generations of my family”.

She reshared the photo on her Instagram Stories, writing: “RIP Bono. You are in doggy heaven with your brother Jackson now”, adding heart and sad face emojis.

This was followed by a throwback photo of Una walking her two pups 13 years ago.

Pals and followers flocked to the comments section to extend their condolences to Una and her family.

Presenter Darren Kennedy said: “I’m so sorry, know how difficult that particular loss feels”.

Blogger Cat Sims wrote: “Sending you love darling. Can't imagine losing a pup”.

B*Witched Singer Sinead O’Carroll added: “Oh Una so sorry for your loss sending all your family a big hug.”

And Imelda May chimed in: “Oh darling I’m so sorry for your loss. So hard!!! They’re lovely and little but such a huge part of a family. Sending you love”.

Animal lover Una welcomed a new addition to the family earlier this year, much to the delight of her kids, Aoife and Tadhg.

Taking to Instagram in February, she showed off her rescue puppy Charlie, whom she adopted from Limerick Animal Welfare.

Charlie is the second rescue she adopted from Limerick Animal Welfare after Una brought home a cat from the same organisation in 2021.
